Chesaning comebacks to defeat Ovid-Elsie 7-5 in game 2 to clinch their 4 consecutive MMAC Championship

The Chesaning Indians clinched their fourth consecutive MMAC Championship by getting a 7-5 comeback win over the Ovid-Elsie Marauders. Adam Woodcock started on the mound for Chesaning and went 3 ⅓ innings and allowed 5 runs. Jacob Zyrowski then came in and pitched the final 3 ⅔ innings and was lights out. Zyrowski allowed two hits, zero walks, zero runs, struck out six batters and earned his first career victory. With the win, Zyrowski improves his record to 1-4 for the season. Chesaning trailed 5-2 after four innings and then the Indians closed the gap to 5-4 scoring two runs in the fifth inning. The score remained 5-4 in favor of the Marauders until Chesaning mounted a comeback in the seventh inning. Brady Sager led the inning off with a walk and tied the game when Adam Woodcock grounded out to the 2nd baseman. Eli Keck and Luke Barta were then walked with two outs. Keck and Barta moved up a base with Keck stealing third and Barta stealing second. Zyrowski then drove in Keck and Barta with a double to left center field. Zyrowski then slammed the door in the seventh inning with three u and three down.
With the win, Chesaning clinches the MMAC Championship for a fourth consecutive year with a 14-0 record. The Indians still have two MMAC games remaining Monday against New Lothrop. Chesaning’s overall record improves to 24-6 for the season.
