Chesaning defeats Bay City Central 13-2 in game 1 of 

Alma Panther Tournament

On Saturday Chesaning traveled to Alma and faced the Bay City Central Wolves in game 1 of the Alma Panther Tournament. The Indians collected 14 hits in the game and came away with a 13-2 victory. Adam Woodcock earned the win on the mound for Chesaning and improved his record to 5-0. The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and two runs over 5 innings, while striking out three and walking three. Jacob Zyrowski pitched one inning of no-run ball in relief. Zyrowski gave up zero hits and struck out all three batters he faced.

Brady Sager led the way offensively for the Indians going 4-4 (double and home run) with a walk, drove in five runs and scored five times. Sager also stole 4 bases in the game. Max Volk, Woodcock and Eli Keck also collected two hits a piece. 

With the win Chesaning improves to 12-3.

Chesaning defeats Alma 6-0 to win 

the Alma Panther Tournament

Chesaning won the Alma Panther Tournament by defeating Alma in the Championship game 6-0. Brady Sager was dominant on the mound for the Indians as the right hander rang up 18 strikeouts over 7 innings. Sager surrendered three hits, zero walks and zero runs. With the win Sager improves to 4-0 on the season. 

The score was knotted at zero until Chesaning scored 3 runs in the top of the sixth inning. With one out Sager doubled to left field followed by a single by Max Volk. Sager and Volk then scored when Adam Woodcock doubled to left field. Woodcock then advanced to third on a single by Eli Keck. Woodcock then scored the third run of the inning when Hudson Persails drove him in. Chesaning then closed out the scoring with three more runs in the seventh inning. Jacob Zyrowski and Drew Reiber led the inning off with singles followed by a fielder's choice by Logan Vogelaar leaving baserunners at first and second. Sager then tripled to left center to drive in Reiber and Vogelaar. Sager then scored the final run on a sacrifice fly by Max Volk. With the win Chesaning improved to 13-3 on the season. The Indians next play at Merrill on Wednesday, April 30.
